Pro-democracy groups have kicked off a three-day campaign to raise funds for four opposition lawmakers who were recently disqualified over their oath-taking. Leung Kwok-hung, Nathan Law, Lau Siu-lai and Edward Yiu will have until September 11 to decide whether to appeal against the High Court ruling that stripped them of their seats. But Leung, from the League of Social Democrats, said a big part of their decision will hinge on how much money they can raise. So far they have got HK$1.6 million in donations, well short of their HK$5 million target. Pro-democracy groups will set up over two dozen booths across the city for the campaign over the weekend to collect funds. Cardinal Joseph Zen, who is a trustee of the fund, urged the public to support the disqualified lawmakers.
