Police on Wednesday reportedly arrested two men suspected of stealing a laptop and a briefcase from a government car which was parked outside the Science Museum in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Sources said the pair were being held at Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station.

Officials earlier confirmed that the car of the Development Secretary, Eric Ma, had one of its windows smashed on Tuesday night and items – including government documents – were stolen.

The government said it disabled the stolen laptop remotely and the documents taken did not contain any personal data on members of the public.
